Is it true that when you dye your hair you get gray hairs?

I have heard that dying your hair could make you get gray hairs prematurely. Is it true that when you dye your hair you get gray hairs?
There is a possibility but it has not been proven yet.Is it true that when you dye your hair you get gray hairs?
Grey hair is caused by build up of hydrogen peroxide in the hair cells as you age. Your body actually produces small amounts of hydrogen peroxide. The only way dying your hair could cause greying is if the chemicals used did damage to the mechanism in the cells that stops overproduction of the hydrogen peroxide.
i teach hairdressing!!!

your hair is made up of minerals, water and keratin. keratin is a protein so its your hairs strength. your hair produced melancytes which contain melanin. melanin is the colour of your hair so depending on how much melanin your hair produces will depend on how light or dark your hair is.

colouring your hair wont cause greys

when you age your hair will stop producing melancytes which will cause your hair to begin to grey. this can happen at different ages for individual people. eg old age or heradatory reasons

this also happens in different patterns usually around the hairline first

if you do want to colour your hair dont do it yourself make sure you have it done proffessionally at a salon.

you get what you pay for

hope this has been helpfull

oh and by the way dont believe everything you read on here on this forum from others
It is not true that dying your hair will make you get gray hairs.

However, dying your hair will almost certainly make you sterile.
