For some reason I have a hard time getting my gray hairs to take color - I do not like permanent dyes - any suggestions on brands of semi permanent dyes and methods to get gray hairs to take the color.I want to use a semi-permanent dye to cover gray hair or blend it in - what is the best?
I would go with natuarl instincts, that way if u dont like the color, it'll be gone in 28 days,I want to use a semi-permanent dye to cover gray hair or blend it in - what is the best?
as a hairdresser semi permanant dyes dont cover grey hair and if its 50% or more grey then you need to use permanant and leave the dye on for longer than stated anything upto 1 hr your head/hair needs to be warm for it to activate the colour if its to cold it wont work!!!!
oh and stay away from bright reds becuase you will end up glowing!!

I'm 40 years old and I've just started to find gray hairs. How can I slow the graying of my hair?
Unfortunately, you cannot do anything to slow it since it is in your genes. The only solution is to dye your hair.I'm 40 years old and I've just started to find gray hairs. How can I slow the graying of my hair?
just get used to it. nothing you can do to stop it. you'll find your hairs will gray one by one, most of them start near where your first gray hair was found.I'm 40 years old and I've just started to find gray hairs. How can I slow the graying of my hair?
k, i'm 20 and i've been finding gray hairs for the last...3-4 years? i don't think you can actually ';slow'; the grays from coming... cus i dye my hair...or highlight the pieces... it sucks.
be glad you didn't start at 19
you did not say if you were married,if so get rid of her and watch your grey disapear ha ha
greying?? i ll bet you are 50 percent grey........you are not vane,,,,but there is one way....eat plenty of fish. and also dunt drink too much alcohol, eat jello daily...and know that them grey hairs are thicker than the others.....so even if the color changes..youll have a fuller looking crop.. clairol works as well for men as girls....i know ..i used it on many a man, when i did my beautician back in the day............dont get peroxide bleach, it will blanch the roots!
oh stop complaining i started getting gray hair when i was 18 years old. you made it to 40 you should be happy. just die it and minimize your stress
just dye it.
its what my mom did
To check graying of hair, mix lemon juice in olive oil, beat till frothy and apply on scalp and wash off after an hour. Premature graying of hair can be postponed by using a strong decotion of black tea and a tablespoon of salt, strain and apply to the roots for 45 minutes and wash with water. Don't shampoo. What do you think about a little bit of gray hair on a middle-aged woman?
just around the temples, or is it better to dye it?
seems it's ';ok'; for men to look gray (distinguished) but not so much for women, tell me what you thinkWhat do you think about a little bit of gray hair on a middle-aged woman?
To each her own. Assuming you live in America, our culture looks at men and women differently. A touch of gray on a middle-aged man looks distinguished. A woman the same age with gray hair looks old. Is it fair? No, but it's the way it is.
I think the answer is to look at the overall image you want to present. If you're wearing thigh-high skirts and 8 inch F-me pumps, hit the hair dye aisle. If you're more into ankle length cotton shifts and flats, then go gray all the way. If you're somewhere in between, look in a mirror. If you like the look of a touch of gray, keep it. If it makes you feel older than you are, color it. Either way, the key is how you feel about you. Gray and confident will always be sexier than dyed and confused. What do you think about a little bit of gray hair on a middle-aged woman?
I think every one should age gracefully. I hate to see elderly women with short hair and perms. They all look alike. I think they look much nicer with their long hair, even if its pulled back. Even if their hair is thin. Makes them look much more youthful. Never get a perm. I wouldn't dye it.
What makes YOU happy
i love salt and pepper hair, i think it looks sophisticatedFish

Do you know how to cover gray hair, without dying them?
In the past, when I didn't need it, somebody told me about one product, that, if u put in your hair, after shampooing them, the gray became blond. Have u heard about that?Do you know how to cover gray hair, without dying them?
Henna as a hair dye: Ideal for those who have a low proportion of grey hair. No need to use chemical dyes! Things required: an iron kadai (frying pan), 1 cup of powdered henna leaves (the powder should be as fresh as possible), 1 tsp dried amla powder, 陆 cup strong tea decoction, 1 tsp coffee powder, 1 piece white katha (available in shops selling country medicines or herbs), 1 egg, 1 lemon. You could also add dried and powdered kadukkai and dhaanikkai (The iron kadai will oxidize and add colour)
Preparation: Mix all ingredients except lemon and egg. Add just a little water to make a thick paste in the iron kadai. Leave for at least 12 hours or overnight. Just before applying, add the egg and juice of the lemon. Mix well.Do you know how to cover gray hair, without dying them?
you could also use a temporary hair rinse such as Fancifull Rinse, it comes in a mousse and in a liqiud.
ColorMark is a temporary hair coloring made specifically for gray hair. It works best if you only have gray roots, but it can be used successfully if you just have a few errant grays.
Artec has a lot of colors that cover gray temporarily, but none stay after washing the color with shampoo.

If you want to get rid of gray, but dont want to dye your hair, I would suggest wearing a hat.
If you don't like chemical dye, try vegetable dye.
I think that it is called color shampoo. Or try a color hair gel.

What is the best way to let my gray hair grow out, with out crazy roots. Can I streak it GRAY?
You can have it frosted/streaked grey. If you know the color of your gray...and there are many...you could have it dyed that color then streak it with something a tad darker so it's not noticeable when it grows out. Good Luck whatever you decide. What is the best way to let my gray hair grow out, with out crazy roots. Can I streak it GRAY?
Cut it really, really short and let it grow out. Otherwise, you're going to have roots and there's nothing you can really do about it!What is the best way to let my gray hair grow out, with out crazy roots. Can I streak it GRAY?
Honestly the best way to let your gray hair grow out is to cut your hair short. This is what everyone that I know has done. If your going to go short, now is a good time to do it,being that it is summer. Hair grows a little faster in warmer weather too. Good Luck ^j^
so your saying you've colored your gray hair and you want to stop, but you don't want it to look weird......my mother did the same thing but she had it cut short 2-3 inches of hair left and just let it grow out another 2-3 inches and then cut it again

How do you dye/color gray hair?
My mom has jet black hair and she very noticeable grays random all over her head. She's highlighted her hair brown but that doesn't seem to cover them up and the salon is getting expensive. Is there a drugstore brand or even Sally's product that works for you? I'd like to dye her hair dark brown and add some highlights to it.How do you dye/color gray hair?
i have the same problem, being a brunette,my greys really show. What i do isbuy a semi permanat (i.e chestnut -OR a darker shade ...What works 4 me is Mahogny --because it has red in it) That seems 2 work, covering the horrible, stringy, thick ,grey hairs.....Go l lHow do you dye/color gray hair?
Grays are very hard to get rid of.But i would suggest a DARK BROWN, with some lighter streaks,as myself have the same problem as mum,im now proud as punch. You can buy your own kit at any outlet or supper market,it has the colour in it along with a brush to do your own highlights where ever you want and its fun.Tell mum be proud of her gray hair as i call them my streaks of wisdom. It cost under 30 dollars, just have fun wiyh it girls.god bless and good luck.Your friend ANNE.....
Dye her whole head a color that is made for covering greys, they have brands specifically for that because the hair itself is harder to permiate. Then do the highlights.
jus dye the whole head with wat ever color she wants
i use revlon. its te cheapest, but works really well. for my hair atleast. just use jet black dye...
