Any tips for coloring my gray hair at home?

I'm planning to use a Clairol product to cover my gray, it's probably called Nice %26amp; Easy. I want the semi permanent color that eventually washes out, so I don't have to worry about roots.

I plan to do it at home, myself. I did it once about two years ago. Does anyone have any tips for success?

Also, I have medium brown hair. Should I go with medium brown, or should I use a lighter brown to make it look like highlights?

Well that may work. Traditionally gray hair is too resistant to take regular hair dye. You would have to use color just for gray hair. If you have ever dyed your hair before the lighter color will not go lighter, you would have to bleach it, semi-permanent dye is deposit only, meaning that it can only go darker. Dying it lighter all over makes it lighter, it will not make you look like you have highlights. Also, semi-permanent color usually never washes out, just so you knowAny tips for coloring my gray hair at home?
Clairol is a bit harsh...use L'oreal if you want a better quality.

And rub vaseline on the skin around your hairline, any dye that gets on your skin won't DYE the skin. Make sure to wear gloves, and good luck.
